$10 Yellow Seal Historic Paper Currency & Unique Serial number $1 bill

In November 1942, American forces under Patton landed in North Africa and began the road to victory over Nazi Germany. They carried these emergency-issue yellow-sealed notes, specially produced for the Operation Torch invasion.

Own a special piece of United States history with a rare Emergency WWII 'North Africa' $10 Bill. When Dwight D. Eisenhower started the 'Operation Torch' campaign against German Field Marshall Erwin Rommel (the 'Desert Fox') in North Africa in November 1942, the U.S. troops carried unique currency with them. Since the U.S. was worried that large amounts of U.S. money would fall into enemy hands they created a series of emergency bank notes solely for use of troops in that area. Each of these 1934 series emergency bills was printed with a yellow seal instead of the usual blue seal on Silver Certificates. If these bills fell into enemy hands, they would have simply been demonetized and made worthless. The one--time issue in 1942 was used again in the Allied invasion of Sicily in 1943

  • Yellow-seal notes could be declared worthless if large quantities fell into enemy hands
  • Alexander Hamilton portrait on the face
  • U.S. Treasury seen on the back
  • Yellow seal and blue serial numbers
  • Julian-Morgenthau signatures

Longchamp Pipes in original packaging

Longchamp pipes were a popular brand of smoking pipes, particularly recognized for their leather-wrapped designs. Originating in France, these pipes were unique because of their aesthetic appeal and the use of quality materials. The leather wrapping not only provided a distinct look but also offered a better grip compared to the traditional wooden or briar pipes. The Longchamp brand was especially noted for its craftsmanship and innovative use of different materials.

Typically, Longchamp pipes featured a bowl made from briar wood, which is a common and highly regarded material in pipe making due to its heat resistance and ability to provide a pure smoking experience. The leather used was often finely stitched and formed a cover around the bowl, sometimes extending onto the shank of the pipe.

Scherr-Tumico Micrometer

Schumer-Tumico, often referred to simply as Tumico, is a well-known brand in the field of precision measuring tools, including micrometers. Tumico stands for "The United Micrometer Company" and has been recognized for producing reliable and accurate measuring instruments.

A Schumer-Tumico micrometer is typically used in engineering, machining, and metalworking to measure small distances or thicknesses with high precision. Micrometers by Tumico can be digital or analog, with the analog models using a calibrated screw gauge for measurement.

Here are some features and aspects of Tumico micrometers:

  1. Precision: Tumico micrometers are known for their accuracy, typically offering precision within thousandths of an inch (micrometer scale).
  2. Build Quality: They are often built with a robust frame, usually made of steel, making them durable and resistant to industrial wear and tear.
  3. Variety: Tumico produces a range of micrometers, including outside, inside, depth, and specialty micrometers, each designed for specific measurement tasks.
  4. Digital and Analog Models: While traditional models feature a vernier scale and a spindle, digital models provide digital readouts that can make measurements quicker and reading errors less likely.
  5. Calibration and Maintenance: Tumico micrometers can be calibrated for continued accuracy, and they require regular maintenance to perform optimally.

Using a Schumer-Tumico micrometer involves understanding how to correctly position the device, read the scale (or display in digital models), and properly maintain the instrument for reliable measurements.
