The delinquent tax sale is an open auction held annually on the first Monday in October and is the forced collection of property taxes. The tax sale will be held at the Charles Lind Brown Activity Center, 1001 Hamar Street, Beaufort. Bidders may sign in from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. and bidding will begin at 10:00 a.m. To avoid the auction of property, delinquent taxpayers must pay before 5:00 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017. Payments will not be accepted the day of the tax sale. Properties offered at the Beaufort County Tax Sale are auctioned in accordance with South Carolina State Statute 12-51-50.
