Lilly's Friends Color My World - Benefit Auction

Lilly and Abby Diuble (along with parents, Scott and Angela!) invite the community to their Diuble Family Vision fall fundraising event, which this year is called “Color My World,” and will be held at 6 pm on November 11, in Building A at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds.

The event will include a catered meal, live and silent auctions, and some raffle items. There will also be DJ services provided by Aaron Helber of Throw Yo Hands Up, complete with a photo booth!

Presale tickets are available at a reduced price of $20/person or $50/family. At the door, the cost will be $25/person and $65/family.

The family is still looking for a few auction items for the fund-raiser. If anyone would like to donate an auction item, volunteer to help out the evening of the event, or donate a dessert for the table, please contact Angela at angela.diuble@diublefamilyvision.org.

Diuble Family Vision is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and all donations are tax deductible. Because of a medical condition known as Usher Syndrome, Lilly, in addition to wearing hearing aids, could face blindness. This has led the entire family to become a crusaders for the fight to cure blindness. Lilly, Abby and their family and friends have raised almost $150,000 in the last several years for the Foundation Fighting Blindness and the Vision Walk. While Abby has always helped in this project, she is also heading up a newer project named WHIP, which stands for “Warning Hearing Impaired People.”

Money raised at the event will be used to fund Abby’s WHIP project–keeping hearing- and visually-impaired children safe during severe weather, fires and carbon monoxide emergencies, and also will be used to contribute to the Foundation Fighting Blindness, to funds research to find treatments and cures for blinding eye diseases.

“These two causes are near and dear to our hearts,” said Angela Diuble. “We really appreciate everyone’s support as we try to make this world a better and safer place for everyone, especially those who can’t do it on their own.”

The Diubles are proud of their newly updated website (still a work in progress) and encourage everyone to take a look at it! Secure donations are accepted on the site if you are unable to make it to the event, but still want to donate to the cause. Or, send a check to them at PO Box 804, Manchester, MI 48158. Also, please check out and “like” their page on Facebook.
