County is a non-profit United Way agency devoted
to nurturing and strengthening families, keeping
children safe, and improving the lives of women of
all ages.

Annually the agency touches the lives of over
17,000 Livingston County residents.

Our Mission:

• To enhance women’s abilities to cope with
crisis and change.
• To prevent child abuse and neglect by
strengthening families and creating safe
environments for children.

Our professional staff of 20 serves the community through three programs:

Women’s Services offering individual counseling, career testing and
counseling, skill building workshops for teen & adult women, parenting classes,
career clothing closet, legal & financial counseling, and Cinderella’s Closet.

Healthy Families Livingston – a nationally accredited home visiting program
that nurtures and supports overburdened and struggling first time parents.
Home visitors connect with families prenatally or after delivery until the child
enters kindergarten. HFL also offers the Nurturing Parenting Program by
Stephen Bavolek, for parents of infants and young children.

Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Council of Livingston County, a coalition of
professionals and volunteers that works to prevent child abuse and neglect
through community education, outreach and advocacy.
