This auction is an ONLINE ONLY AUCTION that starts going off at 6PM on Sunday, December 10th, located at 9714 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. **Credit Cards will be processed immediately following the auction!** Cards prossesing will be capped at $500.00 for a nonrefundable deposit on merchandise won on the auction. Any remaining balance must be paid on pick up day. John T. Henry Auction is conducting this auction for the living estate of Harry Karetas. The Karetas Family came to the Myrtle Beach area from Reading, PA in 1947. They owned the Seaside Cafeteria on Ocean Blvd for a number of years. Harry Karetas, the eldest son of Alex and Aspasia Karetas, carried on the entrepreneurial spirit after serving 4 years in the army by owning and operating his first service station and towing business - an Exxon. Eventually, Harry grew his portfolio to 3 service stations including 2 more Texaco's. Then, he was ready to "switch gears" and returned to his roots in the restaurant business opening the first Dairy Queen in Myrtle Beach. Again, he grew his portfolio to owning and operating 4 Dairy Queens. However, Harry's passion for vintage cars never waned. Harry always had a collection of cars he bought and sold over the years including building an entire kit car himself and fully restoring two 1955 Mercedes 300 SL's (a gullwing and a roadster). His interests also took him to motorcycles, airplanes and boats. Tiring of the restaurant business and opting for something with less overhead, he opened a storage business that he owned for 20 years. By the nature of the business, this gave way for him to continue his passion for all things "wings and wheels" and everything in between with plenty of space now to tinker and store his prized possessions. Harry has now amassed a collection second to none of collectibles in all shapes and sizes to the most discerning buyers and is ready to lighten his load. Take a look around and know Harry has enjoyed every one of these pieces along his eclectic journey.
