Listing Information

Our Fine Art Auction has expanded to a 2-day event being held Thursday, December 7th and Friday, December 8th at 10:00 AM. Day 1 features a diverse selection of paintings, prints, and sculptures from renowned artists. One highlight is an exceptional oil on canvas by Pennsylvania Impressionist Edward Willis Redfield, an atmospheric winter landscape with a woman and child in a red hat returning home. Redfield's fluid brushwork masterfully renders the dappled light filtering through bare trees.

Other top lots include an oil on board Gloucester Harbor scene by George William Sotter, a follower of Childe Hassam. Sotter's American Impressionist view displays his adept handling of color and light. A Native American scene by Eanger Irving Couse. Modern works include a large, vibrant oil painting titled "The Circus is in Town" by Belgian artist Paulette Van Roekens, which retains its original exhibition label from Phillips Mill and period frame by Arthur Meltzer. Meltzer himself is represented by a snowy landscape titled "Hillside with Beeches".

Several paintings by renowned New Hope Impressionist Walter Emerson Baum are featured, including the church landscape "Lehigh Landscape", a cabin scene titled "Cabin and Waterfalls", and intimate pochade oils capturing the Pennsylvania countryside.

The sculpture highlights are glamorous limited edition Art Deco bronzes by Romain Erte depicting elegant female forms. Each sleek bronze is numbered and signed by the artist. Other top lots range from a portrait by Colin Campbell Cooper, 19th century portraits by Platt Ryder and John Donaghy to Pennsylvania landscapes by Christopher Willett.

Works by early female artists include two coastal village oils by British painter Lilian Montague displaying her adept handling of architectural subjects. Local painter Violet Oakley is represented by a vibrant pastel landscape titled "Purple and Gold on Bridge."

Additional offerings include Oriental rugs and antique furniture. With so many quality lots spanning many collecting categories, this auction presents an exciting opportunity to acquire fine art, antiques and design.
