The highlights of the auction include, a Wharton Esherick signed and dated chair, two original works on paper by Alexander Calder, an abstract lithograph by Joan Miró, a rare executive desk by Milo Baughman, and a Mcintosh stereo featuring an MC2105 Amplifier. The Calder works showcase the artist's mastery of line and form. The Miró lithograph exemplifies the dream-like biomorphic shapes that defined his aesthetic. And the Esherick chair and Baughman desk is a superb example of mid-century modern functionality and sleekness.

In addition to the highlights already mentioned, this auction includes over a hundred other important mid-century works. Furniture enthusiasts will delight in the array of items by Danish designers, Hans Olsen, Kai Kristiansen, and Axel Christiansen. Other designers and makers include Vico Magestretti, Phillipe Stark, Herman Miller, and Knoll. Salterini outdoor and Stickley Bros. Quaint seating is also in the mix along an Adrian Pearsall chaise lounge and Eero Saarinen executive chairs. Lovers of art and design will be drawn to pieces like oil paintings by Paul Gorka, mixed media work by Sam Maitin, screenprints by Robert Motherwell and Adolph Gottlieb, and photography by Susan Bank. Other decorative objects range from the avant-garde, like a pair of weighted table lamps by Angelo Lelli for Arredoluce, to the playful, like a fiberglass Pastil pod chair by Eero Aarnio. And those looking to add sculpture to their collections can choose from lots like the abstract bronze by Robert Helsmoortel, Val Bertoia sonambient sculptures, or found art piece by Dennis Sakelson.

This carefully curated sale has something for every mid-century enthusiast. The roster of artists and designers reads like a who's who of forward-thinking creatives who shaped the look and feel of the 20th century. Don't miss your chance to take home an iconic piece of design history. Mark your calendar for this auction day!
