REGISTRATION
  • In order to bid in this auction, you must register on the Bid At Briggs online bidding platform directly, and may not register in person or via telephone.
  • When you register for this auction, you agree to a $1 authorization on the credit card you have on file. This is a hold only, NOT a deposit or charge. This amount will not be held against the invoice total. Please make sure that your credit card information is current, and that the address on your bidder profile is the same address used for your credit card statement.
  • Bidders with registrations outside the U.S. may be required to provide additional identification-verification and/or payment-verification details.
  • Bidders with no or limited history with Briggs Auction may be required to provide us with additional information that may include but may not be limited to:
    – A valid VISA, MasterCard, or American Express card, and/or a deposit in order to bid.
    – A photo or scan of their driver’s license
    – A photo or scan of a current utility bill with name and address matching the driver’s license and submitted bidder registration details.
  • If you have a PA tax exemption/resale number, please be sure to inform Briggs Auction before the auction closes, so we can confirm the PA sales tax has been removed from your invoice, prior to your credit card being charged.

BIDDING and BID INCREMENTS
  • Bidding for this auction will be ONLINE ONLY.
  • Online absentee/pre-auction bids will be accepted prior to the auction start time. At 10AM on September 22 the auction will offer real-time, online-only bidding.
  • Telephone bidding is not available for this auction.
  • Mobile bidding is available with the Briggs Auction app from the Apple App Store for iPhone or iPad, and Google Play for Android devices.
  • Owner or Owner’s Agent may not bid on his/her own items.
  • The Auction record kept by Auctioneer and Clerk is final.
  • The highest bidder for each lot shall be the buyer, and if any dispute arises as to any bidding, or between two or more bidders, the auctioneer will have sole discretion to determine the successful bidder.
  • This auction will follow the increments below for all bidding for this auction. Briggs Auction reserves the right to reject any bid that is off the stated increment:

BUYER'S PREMIUM / SALES TAX
  • The 23% Buyer’s Premium will be added to each successful bid.
  • All PA residents and any bidder who picks up their merchandise in-person are required to pay the PA state sales tax of 6% at the time of pickup, unless they have a valid tax exemption number. If exempt, you must present us with a valid tax exemption number, and complete our exemption form.
  • All out of state bidders are required to pay any applicable sales tax for the state to which their items will be shipped, unless they present a valid tax exemption license.

PAYMENT
  • Full payment for all merchandise is required within fourteen (14) days of the auction.
  • For U.S. Bidders: Briggs Auction will charge the credit card on file in your account immediately following the auction, and a paid receipt will be emailed to you. Special Note: Any payment over $5,000 must be made by Wire Transfer or certified/cashier's check only. We will email wire transfer details after the auction, along with a copy of your invoice.
  • For International Bidders: For any bidder outside the U.S., payment must be made by Wire Transfer only. No international credit card payments will be accepted. We will email you wire transfer details immediately following the auction, along with a copy of your invoice.

MERCHANDISE PICKUP / SHIPPING / LOCAL DELIVERY / NYC CURBSIDE DELIVERY
  • All merchandise in this auction is located at the Briggs Auction Showroom: 1347 Naamans Creek Road, Garnet Valley, PA 19060.
  • All items must be removed from Briggs Auction or have shipping arrangements made within thirty (30) days of the auction. After 30 days, a $5/day storage fee will be applied. October 27 is the last day to pick up items or have shipping arranged before storage fees.
  • Any item not been removed from Briggs Auction after 90 days will be deemed abandoned, and will become property of Briggs Auction, Inc.
  • No item may be removed or will be shipped until full payment of merchandise and/or storage fees has been made.
Merchandise Pickup:
  • Monday-Friday by appointment only
  • Saturdays from 9AM-3PM with no appointment needed.
  • Buyers are responsible for packing smaller items; please ensure that you have your own packing materials and equipment needed to collect your items. Please call ahead if you will require help.
  • Bidders who pick up their purchased items in person are responsible for examining all items at the time of pickup and assuring themselves as to condition before removing any item from Briggs Auction, Inc. No item may be returned for condition issues once it has been removed from Briggs Auction, and no refund or merchandise credit will be offered for any item’s condition after it has been picked up and removed by the bidder.
  • A $20 per invoice fee will be assessed for all missed merchandise pickup appointments with no call or email.
Shipping:
  • Briggs Auction does not ship, however we work with a variety of shippers who can handle anything in the auction. View our Recommended Shippers List.
  • All shipping, packing, and handling costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
  • Items will only be shipped to the bidder’s registration/billing address.
  • Third-party pickups also require advanced scheduling. Please have your shipper contact Briggs Auction not less than 24 hours prior to requested pickup time to arrange.
  • Briggs Auction requires WRITTEN authorization to release merchandise to anyone other than the registered bidder. Please use our Shipping Authorization Form.

SEPTEMBER 22 | The Biagio Pinto Collection

FEATURING: A curated, single-owner collection of artworks by Biagio Pinto (1911-1989), to include landscapes, abstracts, portraits and figural studies in various genres: oil, watercolor, pen & ink, pastel and gouache, mixed-media, charcoal, graphite, and more. Also included are works by Pinto's brothers Salvatore and Angelo.

Pinto was born in Philadelphia in 1911. After studying at the School of Industrial Arts and the Barnes Foundation as well as in Europe, he instructed at the Philadelphia College of Art from 1962-1972, while he launched his career. His art has won numerous awards, and has been variously exhibited in Philadelphia and New York. Many of his works are in the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Barnes Foundation, and others across the U.S. Pinto died in 1989in Venice, Florida.

  • In order to bid in this auction, you must register on the Bid At Briggs online bidding platform directly, and may not register in person or via telephone.
  • When you register for this auction, you agree to a $1 authorization on the credit card you have on file. This is a hold only, NOT a deposit or charge. This amount will not be held against the invoice total. BIDDING and BID INCREMENTS
  • Bidding for this auction will be ONLINE ONLY.
  • Online absentee/pre-auction bids will be accepted prior to the auction start time. At 10AM on September 22 the auction will offer real-time, online-only bidding.
  • Telephone bidding is not available for this auction.
  • Mobile bidding is available with the Briggs Auction app from the Apple App Store for iPhone or iPad, and Google Play for Android devices.
  • Owner or Owner’s Agent may not bid on his/her own items.
  • The Auction record kept by Auctioneer and Clerk is final.
  • The highest bidder for each lot shall be the buyer, and if any dispute arises as to any bidding, or between two or more bidders, the auctioneer will have sole discretion to determine the successful bidder.
  • This auction will follow the increments below for all bidding for this auction. Briggs Auction reserves the right to reject any bid that is off the stated increment:

BUYER'S PREMIUM / SALES TAX
  • The 23% Buyer’s Premium will be added to each successful bid.
  • All PA residents and any bidder who picks up their merchandise in-person are required to pay the PA state sales tax of 6% at the time of pickup, unless they have a valid tax exemption number. If exempt, you must present us with a valid tax exemption number, and complete our exemption form.
  • All out of state bidders are required to pay any applicable sales tax for the state to which their items will be shipped, unless they present a valid tax exemption license.

PAYMENT
  • Full payment for all merchandise is required within fourteen (14) days of the auction.
  • For U.S. Bidders: Briggs Auction will charge the credit card on file in your account immediately following the auction, and a paid receipt will be emailed to you. Special Note: Any payment over $5,000 must be made by Wire Transfer or certified/cashier's check only. We will email wire transfer details after the auction, along with a copy of your invoice.
  • For International Bidders: For any bidder outside the U.S., payment must be made by Wire Transfer only. No international credit card payments will be accepted. We will email you wire transfer details immediately following the auction, along with a copy of your invoice.

MERCHANDISE PICKUP / SHIPPING / LOCAL DELIVERY / NYC CURBSIDE DELIVERY
  • All merchandise in this auction is located at the Briggs Auction Showroom: 1347 Naamans Creek Road, Garnet Valley, PA 19060.
  • All items must be removed from Briggs Auction or have shipping arrangements made within thirty (30) days of the auction. After 30 days, a $5/day storage fee will be applied. October 27 is the last day to pick up items or have shipping arranged before storage fees.
  • Any item not been removed from Briggs Auction after 90 days will be deemed abandoned, and will become property of Briggs Auction, Inc.
  • No item may be removed or will be shipped until full payment of merchandise and/or storage fees has been made.
Merchandise Pickup:
  • Monday-Friday by appointment only
  • Saturdays from 9AM-3PM with no appointment needed.
  • Buyers are responsible for packing smaller items; please ensure that you have your own packing materials and equipment needed to collect your items. Please call ahead if you will require help.
  • Bidders who pick up their purchased items in person are responsible for examining all items at the time of pickup and assuring themselves as to condition before removing any item from Briggs Auction, Inc. No item may be returned for condition issues once it has been removed from Briggs Auction, and no refund or merchandise credit will be offered for any item’s condition after it has been picked up and removed by the bidder.
  • A $20 per invoice fee will be assessed for all missed merchandise pickup appointments with no call or email.
Shipping:
  • Briggs Auction does not ship, however we work with a variety of shippers who can handle anything in the auction. View our Recommended Shippers List.
  • All shipping, packing, and handling costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
  • Items will only be shipped to the bidder’s registration/billing address.
  • Third-party pickups also require advanced scheduling. Please have your shipper contact Briggs Auction not less than 24 hours prior to requested pickup time to arrange.

FEATURING: A curated, single-owner collection of artworks by Biagio Pinto (1911-1989), to include landscapes, abstracts, portraits and figural studies in various genres: oil, watercolor, pen & ink, pastel and gouache, mixed-media, charcoal, graphite, and more. Also included are works by Pinto's brothers Salvatore and Angelo.

Pinto was born in Philadelphia in 1911. After studying at the School of Industrial Arts and the Barnes Foundation as well as in Europe, he instructed at the Philadelphia College of Art from 1962-1972, while he launched his career. His art has won numerous awards, and has been variously exhibited in Philadelphia and New York. Many of his works are in the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Barnes Foundation, and others across the U.S. Pinto died in 1989in Venice, Florida.

REGISTRATION
  • In order to bid in this auction, you must register on the Bid At Briggs online bidding platform directly, and may not register in person or via telephone.
  • When you register for this auction, you agree to a $1 authorization on the credit card you have on file. This is a hold only, NOT a deposit or charge. This amount will not be held against the invoice total. Please make sure that your credit card information is current, and that the address on your bidder profile is the same address used for your credit card statement.
  • Bidders with registrations outside the U.S. may be required to provide additional identification-verification and/or payment-verification details.
  • Bidders with no or limited history with Briggs Auction may be required to provide us with additional information that may include but may not be limited to:
    – A valid VISA, MasterCard, or American Express card, and/or a deposit in order to bid.
    – A photo or scan of their driver’s license
    – A photo or scan of a current utility bill with name and address matching the driver’s license and submitted bidder registration details.

BIDDING and BID INCREMENTS
  • Bidding for this auction will be ONLINE ONLY.
  • Online absentee/pre-auction bids will be accepted prior to the auction start time. At 10AM on September 22 the auction will offer real-time, online-only bidding.
  • Telephone bidding is not available for this auction.
  • Mobile bidding is available with the Briggs Auction app from the Apple App Store for iPhone or iPad, and Google Play for Android devices.
  • Owner or Owner’s Agent may not bid on his/her own items.
  • The Auction record kept by Auctioneer and Clerk is final.
  • The highest bidder for each lot shall be the buyer, and if any dispute arises as to any bidding, or between two or more bidders, the auctioneer will have sole discretion to determine the successful bidder.
  • This auction will follow the increments below for all bidding for this auction. Briggs Auction reserves the right to reject any bid that is off the stated increment:

    Bid: $501 – 1,000; Increment: $50

BUYER'S PREMIUM / SALES TAX
  • The 23% Buyer’s Premium will be added to each successful bid.
  • All PA residents and any bidder who picks up their merchandise in-person are required to pay the PA state sales tax of 6% at the time of pickup, unless they have a valid tax exemption number. If exempt, you must present us with a valid tax exemption number, and complete our exemption form.
  • All out of state bidders are required to pay any applicable sales tax for the state to which their items will be shipped, unless they present a valid tax exemption license.

PAYMENT
  • Full payment for all merchandise is required within fourteen (14) days of the auction.
  • For U.S. Bidders: Briggs Auction will charge the credit card on file in your account immediately following the auction, and a paid receipt will be emailed to you. Special Note: Any payment over $5,000 must be made by Wire Transfer or certified/cashier's check only. We will email wire transfer details after the auction, along with a copy of your invoice.
  • For International Bidders: For any bidder outside the U.S., payment must be made by Wire Transfer only. No international credit card payments will be accepted. We will email you wire transfer details immediately following the auction, along with a copy of your invoice.

MERCHANDISE PICKUP / SHIPPING / LOCAL DELIVERY / NYC CURBSIDE DELIVERY
  • All merchandise in this auction is located at the Briggs Auction Showroom: 1347 Naamans Creek Road, Garnet Valley, PA 19060.
  • All items must be removed from Briggs Auction or have shipping arrangements made within thirty (30) days of the auction. After 30 days, a $5/day storage fee will be applied. October 27 is the last day to pick up items or have shipping arranged before storage fees.
  • Any item not been removed from Briggs Auction after 90 days will be deemed abandoned, and will become property of Briggs Auction, Inc.
  • No item may be removed or will be shipped until full payment of merchandise and/or storage fees has been made.
Merchandise Pickup:
  • Monday-Friday by appointment only
  • Saturdays from 9AM-3PM with no appointment needed.
  • Buyers are responsible for packing smaller items; please ensure that you have your own packing materials and equipment needed to collect your items. Please call ahead if you will require help.
  • Bidders who pick up their purchased items in person are responsible for examining all items at the time of pickup and assuring themselves as to condition before removing any item from Briggs Auction, Inc. No item may be returned for condition issues once it has been removed from Briggs Auction, and no refund or merchandise credit will be offered for any item’s condition after it has been picked up and removed by the bidder.
  • A $20 per invoice fee will be assessed for all missed merchandise pickup appointments with no call or email.
Shipping:
  • Briggs Auction does not ship, however we work with a variety of shippers who can handle anything in the auction. View our Recommended Shippers List.
  • All shipping, packing, and handling costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
  • Items will only be shipped to the bidder’s registration/billing address.
  • Third-party pickups also require advanced scheduling. Please have your shipper contact Briggs Auction not less than 24 hours prior to requested pickup time to arrange.

FEATURING: A curated, single-owner collection of artworks by Biagio Pinto (1911-1989), to include landscapes, abstracts, portraits and figural studies in various genres: oil, watercolor, pen & ink, pastel and gouache, mixed-media, charcoal, graphite, and more. Also included are works by Pinto's brothers Salvatore and Angelo.

Pinto was born in Philadelphia in 1911. After studying at the School of Industrial Arts and the Barnes Foundation as well as in Europe, he instructed at the Philadelphia College of Art from 1962-1972, while he launched his career. His art has won numerous awards, and has been variously exhibited in Philadelphia and New York. Many of his works are in the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Barnes Foundation, and others across the U.S. Pinto died in 1989in Venice, Florida.
