After graduating from Pomona College and Penn Charter, Paul built a successful 15-year podiatry practice in Yeadon. Upon retirement, his passion for shooting sports and firearms blossomed into an all-consuming hobby.

Over decades of collecting, Paul amassed an unparalleled array of antique and modern firearms, rare ammunition, shooting accessories, and militaria. As an active member and secretary of the PA Antique Gun Collectors Association, he was deeply devoted to researching the history and advancing design of guns. Paul's collection represents the full range of his interests, from 18th century flintlocks to WWII-era rifles.

Beyond firearms, he assembled an eclectic collection reflecting his love of ducks, Asian art, and antiques. Having grown up near Philadelphia's Mt. Airy neighborhood, Paul frequented local flea markets and gun shows to source prized finds. His Asian art was inherited from his parents, who acquired ceramics, carvings, and more during trips to the Far East.

Read Before Bidding | Live Online Auctions
Auction will open for pre-bidding at www.AlderferAuction.com approximately two weeks before auction date until Wednesday, September 13th at 10:00 AM, at which time pre-bidding will cease and the auction will go live at the auction center (no live audience, just our auctioneer and auction staff). When the auction goes live, lots will be sold one at a time, in numerical order, by a live auctioneer who will be taking bids from multiple online bidding platforms, absentee and phone bids. During pre-bidding you are able to submit a max (maximum) bid. The bidding platform or our auction staff will bid on your behalf up to the maximum bid that you have entered. Once the auction goes live if you wish to increase your bid you will have to wait until that lot opens for bidding and enter any additional bids manually.

Pick-up Details: Successful bidders will receive full instruction on scheduling an appointment for pick-up following the auction. 

Shipping: Alderfer Auction does not offer in-house shipping for our Fine Art auctions. You are responsible for making shipping arrangements with your preferred third-party shipper.
