Johnny's Journey. Johnny Bricker was diagnised with Maple Syrup Urine Disease and Cystic Fibrosis. When he was 4 days old. Johnny is the only second person in the world to have both of these diseases simultaneously. Johnny is waiting on a liver transplant. As of now till he has this transplant he is on a very low protein diet. He receives daily nebulizer treatments with chest PT many meds to take to make sure he absorbs food properly and appointmentsat CHOP with possible lengthy hospital stays if he get sick.
