Listing Information
Bid to own this rare, one of 12 built 1943 WWII Coast Guard 50' Coastal Patrol Boat, originally named 'High Seas' in service 1943 to 1955 whose patrol route was San Diego to Vancouver, WA. 3 Bedrooms 2 bath full galley kitchen, Coast Guard rated to sleep 8, flying bridge seat 12. Owners plan was to restore this up to WWII original 'stealth' radar evasive design combined with 50 MM Gun mounted on bow deck, depth charge launcher on aft deck, full blown flying bridge. High Seas is 49'10" yet only draws 4' of water making her perfect for patrolling harbors, inlets, bays, rivers and places larger boats could not reach, in their search for Japanese mini-subs along Pacific waters of the United States. Refurbishment plan is to build a mock 50 cal for the bow, that is a functional water cannon. Plans for a custom 'depth charge launcher' that is in reality a killer barbeque / smoker. Additional 'depth charges' built in additional cear storage on aft deck. Completion of 'stealth' radar relective / absorbing technology creating 'wings' on both sides of the flying bridge, create weather resistant storage for surfboards. Repainting with WWII USCG 'Zebra striping' to further reduce visual signature of the boat, increasing it's ability to sneak up on enemy craft operating in US waters, then sink or destroy them. Determining value of an operational original WWII combat outfitted warship in private hands could be estimated to sell in low to mid seven figures.
