Listing Terms and Conditions
NOTE ON LOCATIONS - Items being sold at these locations are home based in Gladwin unless stated otherwise. Buyers need to contact John Peck Auctions and request pickup in Charlotte. Keep in mind we also conduct many on site auctions in different towns throughout Michigan. The specific town is posted on every auction. MICHIGAN’S NEW FIREARM LAWS THAT TAKE EFFECT 2/13/24 AND HOW THEY APPLY TO JOHN PECK AUCTION CUSTOMERS. Customers are no longer required to submit any paperwork to law enforcement. John Peck Auctions as the seller will now submit all required paperwork. Free on-site NICS background checks will still be performed for ALL sales unless the buyer is a Federally Licensed Dealer. PISTOL SALES – BUYERS WITH AN ACTIVE CPL must bring it on the pickup day. BUYERS WITHOUT AN ACTIVE CPL must first go to a Police Department and obtain a “License to Purchase” LTP Form RI-010. LONG GUN SALES Business as usual, bring a valid state issued ID and a free NICS background check will be performed. OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES FOR ALL CUSTOMERS Private sales or estate auctions without an FFL dealer present. CPL’S or LTP’s are now required along with completion of firearm sales records for all firearm transactions. Federal Firearm Licensed (FFL) auctioneers or dealers cannot come to your location and conduct an auction or transfer of firearms. Transfers must be conducted where the FFL license hangs or at an authorized event. Examples include gun shows & sporting banquet events. An on-site estate auction beyond the location of license facility is not an authorized event. Unlicensed (Non-FFL) auctioneers cannot take possession of any firearms from buyers or sellers. A FINAL NOTE FROM JOHN PECK I spend a great deal of time understanding the proper and legal transfer of firearms as an FFL Auctioneer to protect buyers and sellers. We now offer 2 locations in Michigan where you can safely buy, sell, & transfer your assets Charlotte & Gladwin. We spend the time and make the investment into navigating the confusion, so you don’t have to. If you have questions as always, we are happy to assist you. For more information refer to House Bill 4138 (2023) using any search engine or visit www.legislature.mi.gov
