Note from Owner:
Found and purchased in Virginia with 107,000 original miles, after a year of looking at rust buckets and beaters in the 83’ - 85’ Supra era.
The previous owner loved and babied this car as did the previous owner before him. Always garage stored and only driven during summer/fall/spring months in Virginia. First owner I know nothing about, other than it lived in NC. Finally, I found a solid, well maintained/loved Supra, I could customize and make my own over time.
Now has 113,600+ miles original miles. Immediately after purchase/getting her home, put on new staggered tires and installed a new stereo w/moveable rear box speakers. (Original cassette / am/fm stereo comes with it boxed) After putting on a few thousand miles that summer, I stored the car in a local aircraft hanger for the winter. The following spring I took the car out of storage. I went for a couple drives that week, the following week - on my way to get the car inspected / oil changed, the engine began to clunk on the highway, I finally reached my classic car repair/inspection shop, and received the bad news that the engine was blown with little compression and metal in the oil. I can only conclude what caused that to happen was the anti-freeze was not rated for Vermont winter temperatures and cracked the block during winter storage in the aircraft hanger?
I found an engine in California, from a 85' Supra that had just been fully restored and had only put 2,500 miles on before it was broadsided.
I purchased the engine and had it shipped from California, to Auto Imports in S. Burlington Vermont - where they installed the replacement engine/transmission with 2,500 miles on it and also replaced the master brake cylinder. I have put roughly 500 miles on the new engine last summer and took a few short drives this season, she runs and drives beautifully. Also it just got a brand new windshield a few weeks ago.
The car is almost 40 yrs old and has lived in sunny hot places its whole life. There are rough spots in the interior … all of which can be covered with aftermarket - velcro on covers for around $300. The dash has a couple sun cracks, the rear panel / shoulder / speaker area in back seat has sun cracks, the center console is cracked but covered and fully functional, the hip area on the drivers seat has 2 holes. The exterior has been repainted by the previous owner to the original 2 tone silver/gray. Cosmetically it is missing the right rear splash guard, the lower plastic trim pieces - below the doors are there but not perfect - would look better replaced, there is a plastic molded piece that covers the the metal bottom window trim that needs to be replace - it was cracked and removed. The AC/Freon need to be recharged - the blower/fan work fine.
*There is only one key (currently) that works in the ignition for some reason, it is well worn, I have tried to have keys made, but they will only work for the locks outside, also when turning off the ignition, there is a button on the steering column you have to push down and turn the key towards you one notch, *then remove the key. Stopping at the first click the power remains on and will wear down the battery.
The Supra ( IMO ) is a factory built race car, the power and way these cars handle & drive... is truly amazing and underrated, as classic cars go. I fell in love with the 83-85’ era of Supra’s as soon as I saw one!
I purchased this car because it is solid as can be and has been well maintained / cared for its whole life. I had a vision to paint it a 70’s metallic Schwinn burnt orange - keeping the lower trim - spoilers - flares black, and re-doing the interior khaki faux leather with black carpeting and accents. These past few years of global financial destruction has impacted my world enough to force me to have to sell my little gem that makes me smile just looking at it and driving it.
This Supra can be your daily driver as is or well suited to become your own vision!

1985 Toyota Supra
