Bob 'Red' Wimmer was a fixture at Detroit's Olympia Stadium, the former home of the Detroit Red Wings for many decades beginning in the 1950's. Wimmer served as a professional photographer for many events that took place at the historic stadium, including when The Beatles appeared there in 1964. From coast-to-coast, anyone in the hockey world knew 'Red' Wimmer. He became the unofficial historian for the Detroit Red Wings and was a member of the Detroit Red Wings Alumni Association. Wimmer authored numerous publications, including two books from the Images of America series, Remembering Detroit's Olympia Stadium. Due to the success of that publication, he was commissioned to author another book titled, Detroit's Olympia Stadium. Special Attention!
