Brief History:

Lilia Skala, the first woman licensed engineer and architect in Austria, before she became a leading lady of the stage and screen in the 20’s and 30’s. When she arrived in the US as a political refugee, she worked her way out of a zipper factory to a career on Broadway, television and film, culminating in an Academy Award nomination.

Late 17th Century German Baroque, inlaid (built in two pieces), carved walnut armoire. Has original engraved lock & key (3"by 6") 23" deep, 67" long, 73-1/2" high; Biedermeier fruitwood side chair with in tarsia inlay (floral motif) on two top back splats. Caned seat; German Biedermeier fruitwood cupboard/bookcase, cherry wood. 37-1/2" wide, 16" deep, 68-1/4" high; German Biedermeier walnut sewing table, single drawer with compartment. 24" wide, 19'1/2" deep, 30-3/4" high; North Italian fruitwood and parquetry inlaid commode, late 18th century (also described as Louis XVI Vitrine with glass lid that opens); interior lined with brocade. 4 drawers. 31" high (back), 29-1/4" (front), 37-1/2" long, 18" deep; (19th Century) inlaid vanity table. 18-7/8" wide, 13-7/8" deep, 28" tall; Baroque mirror. 30” x 24”; Wood and Upholstered Settee; 3 Drawer Regency Chest; Steamer Trunks; Gilt Mirror; Oriental & Egyptian Throw Rugs; Corner Glass Front Cabinet; Drop Leaf Table; Depression Bureaus; Brunswick Card Table and Chairs.
